Delivery Partners

The Delivery Partners are groups or organisations who have or are delivering projects that the Warwick Ahead Community Board has commissioned.

Each Delivery Partner is commissioned by Big Local and is responsible to the Community Board. They are expected to provide monthly update report about their activities to the Board, and quarterly financial reports.

Warwick Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch became established on Warwick Estate in Year One of Warwick Ahead Project. The group meet monthly and have set up a Junior Section called the Warwick Watchers. The group have been successful with The Lanes Project and in getting CCTV for Cherry Tree Bungalows

Groundwork Wakefield

Groundwork Wakefield supports communities in need, working with partners across the Wakefield District to make positive changes. The vision is to create better neighbourhoods, build skills and job prospects and to live and work in a greener way. Groundwork delivered an Environmental Pilot Project and are a Big Local LTO

One to One Development Trust

One to One create exciting and innovative digital media, film and arts projects. The work celebrates and promotes culture, heritage, wellbeing, education and diversity. One to One worked with residents and groups at the very beginning of Big Local to come up with the Warwick Ahead name, they helped write the Community Plan, Profile and Community Vision. In 2012 – 2014 they were funded by Wakefield Council and WDH to offer Partnership Support to the Board for 2 days a month. They now oversee the Warwick Ahead Media Project which includes film, newsletters, the website and social media and are a Big Local LTO

Old Quarry Adventure Playground

For over 30 years the Addy has provided safe play opportunities for children and young people. It is the largest community space on the estate and offers a range of activities and sessions for all the community.
The Addy hosts the Warwick Ahead Community Board Meetings and oversees a range of community initiatives for Warwick Ahead that run from the Addy and is a Big Local LTO

Nova Wakefield District is the support agency for voluntary and community groups in Wakefield district. Nova are the employer of the Warwick Ahead Community Development Worker. Nova work with a steering group from Warwick Ahead to oversee this post

Warwick Community Group

WCG are run by volunteers who are committed to making the estate a better place. They are based in Pinewood Place in a shop leased from Wakefield District Housing.
They have a good programme of weekly activities as well as running trips and events. WCG are a Big Local LTO

Leeds Mind & Wakefield Well Women’s Centre

Leeds Mind are partners with Wakefield Women’s Centre delivering a range of counselling and peer support sessions on the estate.

Leeds Mind help people build on their strengths, overcome obstacles and become more in control of their lives. They support people to discover their own resources to ‘recover’ and to live life independently with their mental health condition.

Wakefield Women’s Centre have two sites in Wakefield Centre and also offer outreach services. They deliver a range of services including counselling service, low cost and full cost complimentary therapies, free personal development courses, and a menopause support group. Women can contact the centre to access a range of health and social information and we offer free pregnancy testing also.

Osgoldcross Forum

OSCF are a community organisation run by a mix of volunteers and paid staff. They run a youth project called Youth on the Move. They oversee the Warwick Wheels Community Transport project for Warwick Ahead, they also deliver community bus services in North Yorkshire.

Leeds City Credit Union

Leeds City Credit Union is a financial cooperative that provides straightforward, affordable financial services. The Credit Union are funded to deliver specific services on Warwick Estate for Warwick Ahead. They are based in the Community Shop.

Trust of Conservation Volunteers

TCV delivered a pilot environment project for Warwick Ahead. TCV works across the UK to create healthier and happier communities for everyone – communities where our activities have a lasting impact on people’s health, prospects and outdoor places.
